Lourve
After a successful weekend of meeting new people, I decided to travel around Paris and see what else is had in store for me. After taking the metro to the center of Paris, it was a given that I was to visit The Louvre. The minute I got off the train, I begin to wander and notice a man on the ground with chalk. As I got

closer to the Louvre I see that the man is painting a mural on the ground, which was impressive because the extent of my chalk art was drawing things on a chalkboard and erasing them assuming they'd go into ChalkZone and wreak havoc.
As I arrived i stood in awe at the giant mansion encompassing the glass pyramid that stands as the entrance to the great museum, oblivious to the history of the museum. Built in the 12th century King Phillip I, first king of France, as a fortress, to defend Northern France from invasion. It was not until 1527 that the Louvre as we know it was beginning to be built. With all of the exhibits of not only art, but artifacts as well as live performances made this a unique experience for me.
The impressions art make in person far outstretch just seeing it in a book or on a screen. I was never big on art growing up until I took an art appreciation class in my community college. It made me look at the art in a different light that made me develop a taste for certain artists. It felt bittersweet to be able to be physically in front of a piece of artwork, because art is something that transcends the words we use and can make us feel a way words could never.
