My Escape to Europe.

Today is the big day, it all started a month before my birthday (January 16th) when I turned 21. On the cusp of my existential crisis I had decided that I was to go to Paris, enjoy the sights, and join the French Foreign Legion. I figured it would be the best course of action since I felt that going to Bergen Community College was a waste of my time and that I would be trapped there forever as told by one of my favorite teachers, Ms.Krebs. So as I made the ballsy choice to buy a one-way ticket to Paris, I remembered to skip on the ticket insurance so as to ensure that I could not back out at the last minute. As I got closer to my departure date, I began to feel fearful of many things.

1. was the fear of being mugged, as told to me by my cousin Rolando, 2. was the fear of the unknown. It was going to be my first time going on a vacation without my parents, let alone going to another continent. I had no clue what to expect, so far it was that I would be mugged first chance they had and to not go out at night. And 3. the fear of missing out on what was going on back home, is one of the main fears that people have when leaving their comfort zone. I'll be the first to admit that I was already thinking about all the parties I would miss out on, all the good times and moments that could possibly happen, and I hadn't even left yet. But I made contingency plans to ensure that I would be on that plane on Febuary 1st, 2013.

When that day came my mother who never believed I had bought my ticket, was dealt a dose of reality when her eldest son left the comfort of their home and embarked on the adventure of a lifetime. WISH ME LUCK!
